Infrared Sauna

The infrared sauna is an alternative method to traditional saunas that offers several advantages. The heat from ceramic infrared emitters immediately penetrates the skin to a depth of 3-4 cm.

The principle is the same as that of the traditional sauna: you are enveloped in heat, which causes profuse sweating. The difference is that with the infrared sauna cabin, you avoid thermal shock. The temperature rises between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. Scientific studies demonstrate that organs are stimulated by infrared heat, which acts directly on the body's cells.

What is Infrared?

Infrared rays are waves with a frequency lower than that of red light. They are therefore not visible to the naked eye and yet are used everywhere in our daily lives, even in our remote controls. Some infrared rays produce heat, such as those emitted by sunlight. It is this type of infrared that is used in sauna cabins.

Despite its "barbaric" name, infrared is 100% natural since it is present everywhere in our environment. The heat emitted by infrared rays is much less intense than the heat from an electric or gas sauna. If you have difficulty tolerating high temperatures, the infrared sauna is the ideal alternative solution.

It is worth noting that there are two types of infrared:

  • Short-wave infrared rays, which mainly heat the surface of the skin,

  • Far or long-wave infrared rays (those used in our sauna), which heat the body deeply.

And to prove that infrared is safe, just visit a hospital: the incubators used for premature babies use infrared to keep our little cherubs warm.

Benefits of Infrared Sauna

The benefits of the infrared sauna are numerous:

  • Infrared rays accelerate cellular functions, leading to increased blood circulation, improved cardiovascular system, and strengthened immune system.

  • Regular use of the infrared sauna contributes to reducing tension, relieving rheumatism and arthritis, improving oxygenation, and aiding in skin purification.

  • The infrared sauna reduces stress, fatigue, and promotes better sleep.

  • With profuse sweating, the infrared sauna helps eliminate heavy metals (nickel, lead), and alcohol.

  • The infrared sauna has slimming effects. For a 30-minute session, the total loss is estimated between 800 and 1000 Kcal compared to 450 Kcal for a 10 km bike ride and 300 Kcal for a swimming session.

Usage Tips

  • It is important to preheat the infrared sauna cabin (5-10 minutes before the session).

  • Take a quick, relaxing, hot shower.

  • Play soft music for maximum relaxation.

  • Sit comfortably in the sauna to better enjoy the infrared rays.

  • After leaving the cabin, take a refreshing shower.

  • Lie down for 10-15 minutes with your legs slightly elevated.

  • Take another quick, warmer shower and return to the cabin if necessary.

Aromatherapy enhances the benefits of the infrared sauna by adding aromatic extracts of plants (essences and essential oils). Aromatherapy is recommended for self-medication moments and preparation for sleep.

Indulge yourself with fruity fragrances like lemon, which boosts energy and dispels melancholy.

Chromotherapy (or color therapy) is a method that uses the energy of colors to induce a beneficial reaction in the body, especially the skin. It is an ancient unconventional medical therapy that originates from China, India, Egypt, and more distantly from Ancient Greece.

Its principle is simple: each color has a unique wavelength that can generate a different response from the body. Since the skin is extremely sensitive to light (and all luminous energies), it reacts to colors which, as rays of light and electromagnetic waves, can positively influence the body's energies. The spectrums of colors have a considerable influence on the psyche.

Chromotherapy involves four essential colors: blue, green, red, and yellow.

BLUE: this color has relaxing effects and is recommended for nervous disorders and insomnia.

GREEN: green is the color that treats migraines and nervous disorders.

YELLOW: this color regulates digestive disorders and contributes to good mood.

RED: red accelerates blood circulation and brings vitality.
